What is Miss Know It All?

Miss Know It All is a blog-magazine featuring the best shopping and lifestyle resources on the internet. We tell you what’s worth buying and trying.
Organized in categories covering fashion, home, and lifestyle, the site is easily searchable to help you find the things you want. (Ok, and some things you didn’t know you wanted.)
We spend the hours you don’t have. We dissect the magazines, blogs, social networks and traditional media to bring you our preferred picks. Clothes, music, home design, art, fitness and everything in between are posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Our challenge is to sift through the junk and tell you what’s worthwhile. MKIA is about filtering out the noise and bringing you the fun, fabulous, useful and just plain pretty finds that are out there for the taking.
Our posts are all authentic and completely objective. But we only post what we like so don’t expect negative reviews – we don’t waste our time with what doesn’t work.
Melina Starr, Founder & Editor
I came up with the idea for Miss Know It All out of a simple desire to organize my vast list of resources and ideas. Having been called a “miss know it all” a few times in my life, and always having family and friends ask me where to find, buy, do, etc the things I like, I knew it was time to make a public site for all to share. At its most basic level, I want the site to be a selection of good things and/or the online places to get them.
A little background on me: I grew up in NY and attended college in Manhattan, where I lived and worked for the next 10 years as a real estate sales and marketing executive. My husband and I had an office romance and have been married for 5 years now. In August 2007 we bought our first apartment in NYC and two years later my husband’s new company needed him to relocate to Chicago, where we have been living since September 2009.
This move, while unexpected, has allowed me the time to pursue other interests, most specifically the development of this blog, which I attend to daily. I hope you enjoy it.

Lauren “Lo” Mendell, Contributing Author
My dearest cousin, Lo, generously offered her time to MKIA as its younger voice. She is the 20-something version of me (who is now officially in her 30s) and her tastes are youthful yet sophisticated.
Lo grew up on Manhattan’s infamous Upper East Side, attended an all-girls prep-school, and then a prestigious private college in upstate New York. (We know it sounds a lot like Gossip Girl, but it is what it is.) She is currently working in marketing for one of the hottest cable channels in television and lives in Downtown Manhattan with her two adorable roommates.
